PROFILE
So how did I become interested in nutrition and weight loss? Although it was not a part of my original professional plans, I was being prepared for this work even in college. While studying chemical engineering at Kansas State University, I became very interested in the study of energy management in various types of mechanical systems (kind of like calorie control in the human machine). Little did I know that this interest and in depth scientific study would one day apply to my patients! During medical school at Tulane, my interests focused on nutrition, preventive medicine and public health. I was privileged at the time to attend one of only two medical schools in the country offering a degree in public health.
Once I started my family medical practice in 1993, it was only natural to focus on assisting patients toward optimal health. Nutrition and weight loss became a fascinating and foundational part of my work. My wife Kathy still reminds me of the early days when my passion for studying and applying nutrition to my patients consumed me. Then, as patients saw improved health, tremendous weight loss, and improved vitality, they told their friends about our program.
We quickly outgrew our original office and now enjoy keeping our two clinics with 14,000 square feet of medical space busy with activity! I've had the privilege of assisting thousands of patients in their pursuit of optimal health. It is a joy for me to be a part of enhancing the health of others, assisting them in achieving health-related goals through nutrition and weight loss.

I look forward to serving you in your pursuit of optimal health!
